Concrete Washout Best Practices: Editable Brochure

This editable brochure was developed as a quick, flexible resource for jurisdictions to share with contractors. It’s designed to be easily updated with local contact information and logos before being handed out at the permit counter or in the field by inspectors and other staff. The goal is to support consistent messaging around concrete washout requirements and make it easier for staff to reinforce expectations on-site.

To support that goal, the brochure outlines key responsibilities for contractors to contain and manage their concrete washout, using clear, concise language that pairs well with field conversations. Input from the Concrete Work Group—including staff from jurisdictions, regulatory agencies, and the concrete industry—helped shape the content to ensure it aligns with common permitting practices and enforcement realities.

While PowerPoint is the easiest way to update contact information, many users may also choose to edit directly in a PDF editor. A short video is included below to walk you through how to customize the brochure with your jurisdiction’s details.

⚠️ Note: The current contact information is placeholder text and must be updated before printing or distributing the brochure.
