May. 1, 2018 Changes to the Scope of Water Quality Standards EIS

Ecology Invites Comments

The Washington State Department of Ecology is updating fresh and marine water quality standards (in Chapter 173-201A WAC) for the protection of people who contact water during recreational use in state waters.

Environmental Impact Statement

We are preparing an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) to evaluate potential environmental impacts associated with changing bacterial indicators. The EIS will help guide rule development and adoption. We are looking for comments on what we should consider when we review changing the bacterial indicators.
