Get Your IKE Submission in by Jan. 21

Highlight Your Expertise to a Targeted Audience at WEFTEC 2020.

Interactive Knowledge Exchange (IKE) Submissions Due by January 21.
WHAT ARE IKES AND IKE ABSTRACTS?

The best way to know what IKEs are is to VIEW THEM. We can tell you IKEs are not your typical speaking engagement!

IKEs are 30 seconds to 5 minutes in length and utilize a creative combination of sound and visual imagery to convey a concentrated message. IKEs may utilize video footage, photographic images, animation, voice-over narration, music, humor, etc. to illustrate the message.

The IKE abstract describes what you will convey in the IKE, and hot topics, innovation, and underrepresented subjects are welcomed.

Young professionals, students, and international professionals are especially encouraged to use this new forum to share and explore new ideas.

IKE ABSTRACTS ARE SIMPLE TO SUBMIT!
Prepare ahead of time a one sentence summary of your IKE abstract – this is your "elevator speech" that explains the IKE and why the audience should care. This one sentence summary will be used to judge the IKE and evaluate how well you delivered your message. Remember: concise is nice.

Prepare a general description (minimum of a 100 words and a maximum of 500 words) that simply describes your IKE, including information on what the IKE will cover, the purpose, and the goal.

There is no limit to the number of IKE abstracts that may be submitted by an individual, company, organization, or institution, but each IKE abstract may be submitted one time only.

Submissions are due Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at 8:00 am, U.S. Eastern Standard Time. (No videos are due on this deadline. This is a written submission.)
NEW THIS YEAR!

To increase interactivity, the IKE submitter will have the option to speak within a 15-minute time slot, while their video is playing, to give more background on their project, problem or solution, as well as address audience feedback and questions.

Additionally, adhering to the IKE values of sharing information from wherever, you can submit a video even if you don’t plan on attending WEFTEC. The session will be set-up for sharing all videos with the audience even if you cannot be in attendance. But be sure to let us know if you plan on attending WEFTEC when you submit your IKE abstract.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE IKE SESSION AND HOW WILL IT BE PROMOTED?

For WEFTEC 2020, the IKE Session will include:
  • A dedicated room and session time for the IKE Session to engage the live audience
  • Web-based promotion and access to the IKE, through YouTube
  • Listing in the WEFTEC mobile app and onsite program at WEFTEC
