1) Developing a Strategic Social Marketing Plan 12-week course, iSMA Professional Online Certificate of Completion. The class will run from October 2-December 23, 2023, and will be taught by Nancy Lee. Scholarships are available. More details and a detailed course syllabus are available.
2) Indian Country 101 Training (online courses), The Nature Conservancy. The Indian Country courses will likely feel different than other training courses you have taken. These materials were thoughtfully curated over several years and designed to give learners access to quality information and a deeper understanding and perspective of the Native experience in the U.S. This six-course series provides an overview of tribes on a national level in Indian Country 101, and a deeper dive into working with tribes in Washington State in Indian Country 102.
3) Jobs for Clean Water: Career Events
Are you interested in jobs that protect human health and the environment? The King County Wastewater education team is hosting two career events for high school youth this spring to introduce teens to the variety of careers available that help keep our water clean. One event will be online and the other in-person at our treatment plant in Renton. Professionals will be leading short sessions to share details about their job, their career stories, and advice for getting hired. The sessions will be interactive and include time to ask questions. Each event will have different professionals attending so youth can participate in both events. At each event, we will also share information about our paid Clean Water Ambassadors internship for high school youth happening this summer!
Online: Saturday, April 22: 10 am-noon
In-person, Renton: Saturday, May 6: 10:00 am – 1:00 pm (includes lunch!)
