Jul. 25, 2019 Revisions to the 2019 Stormwater Management Manual

Eastern Washington to be consistent with Western

Ecology has identified several revisions to the 2019 Stormwater Management Manual for Eastern Washington (SWMMEW) that are necessary to make the manual consistent with state law, state-wide BMPs, and recent court decisions. The below changes will be made to the manual and the updates will be available in August. These changes provide greater clarity and consistency to the guidance provided in the SWMMEW.

1) Chapter 5, 5.6 Subsurface Infiltration (Underground Injection Control Wells) due to corrections made in response to comments received during the SWMMWW comment period. For a preview of anticipated changes, see the SWMMWW, Volume I, I-4 UIC Program. A summary of anticipated edits is also attached.

2) Chapter 6, Table 6.4, the equation to calculate the Total Correction Factor (CFT) was inadvertently left out of the text. The equation and an explanation of how to use the equation are now included immediately after Table 6.4.

3) Chapter 7, BMP C154E: Concrete Washout Area due to errors observed during the SWMMWW comment period and necessary updates for consistency with the state-wide Construction Stormwater General Permit. For a preview of anticipated changes, see the SWMMWW, Volume II, II-3, BMP C154: Concrete Washout Area

4) Chapter 8, Appendix 8-B: Management of Street Waste Solids and Liquids due to revisions to WAC 173-350 that apply state-wide. For a preview of anticipated changes, see the SWMMWW, Volume IV, Appendix IV-B: Management of Street Waste Solids and Liquids.
